The Terrace

Please be advised that The Terrace will remain closed for the upcoming season as we continue a carefully planned and significant programme of renovations across the hotel.

These works form part of our long‑term commitment to preserving The Shelbourne’s heritage while thoughtfully enhancing the experience we offer our guests.

We very much look forward to welcoming guests back to the Terrace in 2027, and thank you sincerely for your understanding and continued support.

HOSPITALITY SINCE 1824

General Charles Blair.

Arguably the most distinguished aviator of his generation, Blair was probably best known at The Shelbourne as the husband of Dublin born Hollywood star, Maureen O’Hara. This, in spite of the fact that he not only landed the first seaplane at Foynes but also flew the last one out!
