In 1953 commis waiter Gabriel Walsh brought breakfast to notoriously difficult Soprano Margaret Burke Sheridan only to find her on the floor. Prepared for her eccentricity, he calmly served breakfast as she lay there (although she was just retrieving a lipstick), and rather than triggering a fit of rage she began to laugh, and a lifelong friendship was born.
